In the last two years, I struggled to make my own period garments but will continue my endeavours until I'm satisfied! To corset, petticoats and capes I adore it all.

However, I do own a vast majority of store-bought patterns, I do like to experiment and make my own complicated patterns to satisfy what I'm going for and possible change a basic pattern to something I enjoy as a design. Most garments I made are made with a basic pattern that has been drafted to the likes of my own ability and vision.

Currently, I work as a saleslady in a fabric store, but when I'm not there I'm sewing and documenting my own progress, with this blog I want to be even more productive and show you guys what I have been up to in my sewing endeavours and how I improved myself.

If you’re interested in seeing more of my work, check out the links below and thank you for dropping by

My name is Laila van der Torre, I'm a 27-year-old

enthusiastic seamstress currently residing in

the Netherlands.

I have been sewing properly for the last ten years for

cosplay and focused my last two years on period fashion.
I try to mix elements that I like from period or cosplay fashion to a garment for me to wear myself within a modern-day setting. As well do I like making my own designs focused on cosplay and period wear and remake the fashion with the best of my sewing ability.

I spent most of my day's sewing cosplays and started recently to make my own wardrobe to what I want it to be. I absolutely love details that I put in every garment and or cosplay I ever made and will continue to do, how small and unnoticed they might be. Without them, it's not complete to my own eye.
